If you’re a disabled veteran, we first want to thank you for your service to our country and the sacrifice you made to ensure the freedom and safety of our great nation. Without your dedication to our nation’s well-being, our company would not even have the opportunity to exist and operate. So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

As part of our dedication to veterans living with physical limitations, we want to help to build a home for you that will drastically improve your quality of life and maximize your level of independence.

ADA Compliant Accessible Homes

Lake Michigan Builders has a variety of barrier-free and wheelchair accessible housing options to choose from. In addition to single-floor housing with no steps, other features to accessibility include such options as three-foot-wide doorways and wheel-in showers with no ledge in the master bedroom/bathroom.

Every home we build for our veterans is ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. If you’d like to know more about the specifics of our ADA compliant homes, you can visit our ADA page here.

One of our most popular homes for the disabled features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a house built on a slab with no basement and a roomy garage that measures 32 by 22 feet. All of the main areas in this home are wheelchair accessible. This home is very versatile and does a great job of suiting the unique needs of those living with or without a disability.  If you prefer a smaller living space, we have many other accessible house plans to choose from.

That’s why we’re approved and registered builders with the VA in the state of Michigan.  We also have built up a relationship with the VA to help walk you through the process of applying for and receiving VA grants for accessible housing.
